So, today we had a very interesting meeting with some top bonsai gardeners, and bonsai association leaders. We talked for over an hour and a half about what we might do together to promote bonsai gardening for foreign visitors, and how to make the experience rewarding, educational, and interactive. One very important thing for everyone was to figure out ways where people can DO bonsai, and not just look at trees as they stroll through a carefully controlled environment. We have some good ideas so far, and are looking forward to plans coming together soon for the new year. We were very impressed with the bonsai that we saw and are simply amazed as to the huge amount of trees that are here. Over 85% of all bonsai trees in Japan come from Kagawa, and we could see the passion that people have for this beautiful art.
