The islands of Kagawa-ken really give this prefecture its charm. Like jewels on a crown, the islands brilliantly shine. Many people know the bigger islands, like Naoshima and Shodoshima (must visits by the way!), but the lesser known charms of the smaller islands are not to be underestimated.

Only about 200 people live on Ogijima and you can get there in about 40 minutes by ferry from Takamatsu port. Ogijima is also home to a LOT of cats. My kids were in heaven!

This is a video by Nishizawa Megu-san, and she kindly takes you for a walk around the island. Let’s go for a walk! Thank you Nishizawa-sama!!

Check out this very wistful video of Ogijima. It is silent, but very charming indeed:

A wonderful visit to Ogijima awaits! Do not delay, there are things to see, snacks to eat, cats to pet, art to see, and the sea wind to feel on your face!
