If you do not know what a yuzu is don’t worry. I didn’t know what it was until I moved to Japan. A yuzu is a kind of citrus that is close to a lemon but had a very unique flavour and smell. It is absolutely delicious in drinks, as a seasoning, in salads, with fish and meat. It really is a very unique and special fruit.
If you are a gourmet, or someone who serves food for a living, looking for something that will be a unique and special flavour, I highly recommend you find out more about this fruit. I’m not a gourmet myself, but if I were an owner of a restaurant that offers high level service, I would be seriously finding out more about this and making my trip down to Kochi prefecture a priority.
