This is a great news write up on some of the beautiful and quietly sublime places in Shikoku. A fan of the animation, “Spirited Away”, the author Leesan comes to Shikoku and takes in the source of that productions inspiration.

And Shikoku does inspire. I haven’t met a soul yet who was untouched by their visit here. There is so much to see, but not in a “must cram in everything while running” way. The Shikoku way seems to be much more subtle, and calm, and serene. There is so much to see, so many paths to walk, so much great food to eat. And some marvelous marvelous people to meet.

That really is the best part.
