Lonely Planet is the Bible of international travel. This campaign, we are told by Lonely Planet executives will be seen by 1.6 BILLION people around the world over the course of the year. We believe that this will have a huge impact on inbound tourism to this area and more and more people around the world will discover how great and beautiful Shikoku is.
Shikoku is the ONLY Japan destination to receive an award from Lonely Planet for 2022 so this is really an incredible opportunity for this region to make the most of welcoming and planning for the arrival of visitors in a post-COVID world. It will not be easy, and there are some hurdles to overcome, but we are so delighted to be part of the process to bring such a powerful global spotlight to Shikoku!
